What We Offer
Would you buy a used car without first getting a certified mechanic to look it over? Probably not! Or maybe you have, only to find out later after much frustration and repair bills that you bought a lemon.
Chances are your next home purchase will be the biggest investment of your life so far, and ensuring the quality of that home with a pre-purchase home inspection beforehand is absolutely crucial!
Even if you’re an experienced homeowner and handy around the house, there are things in a home that may be “hidden”. It takes the expert eye of a trained home inspector to find the hidden problems that could cause you a lot of grief and money down the road. Having a home inspection done prior to making that big purchase will give you the peace of mind you need, and if anything is revealed you can choose to include the repairs in the conditions of sale before you buy!
Another potential upside to having a home inspection on a prospective purchase is if there are some minor defects on the home that you’re still comfortable with, you now suddenly have a bargaining chip and will likely be able to negotiate a lower price with the seller based on the repairs needed. It’s a no-brainer!
Air Quality Testing
What could possibly be more important to our health than the air we breathe? Clean air is vital to our well-being. Unfortunately, our local environment and even our own home are slowly poisoning many of us!
Some of the common culprits include smoke, asbestos and black mould. Oftentimes, these problems are impossible to detect without a carefully calibrated air quality-testing machine in the hands of a trained professional.
Own an old home and are worried there may be carcinogenic asbestos under your flooring? Had a recent flood or water pipe burst and are concerned there may be mould growing in the framework of your walls? The easiest way to know for sure is to have an air quality sample taken.
Don’t tear up your drywall or flooring before you know for sure what it is you’re looking for! If any of the following apply to you or your home, the air in your home could be an issue and should be tested right away:
• New or worsening cough
• Breathing difficulty
• Sneezing, stuffy nose and other allergic reactions
• Unusual smell
• Itchy, burning eyes
• Recent flooding or water leak
• Home built before 1980, (asbestos was a common building material up until this year)
Our trained and qualified technician will come to your home and take an air sample, send it to ProLab for an extremely thorough analysis and you will be supplied with a comprehensive report detailing the status and quality of your air and any potentially hazardous substances in it.
